What is the Let's Talk Science Partnership Program?

"The enthusiasm of my graduate student partner really rubs off on me. When you're bouncing ideas back and forth, two minds are better than one. My partner gives me a different perspective and helps me see my class differently. And of course, the kids love it."
-Margaret Lockwood, elementary school teacher

Are you a teacher interested in having a graduate student partner for your class?

The UBC LTS Partnership Program will be accepting new teachers for Partnerhsip Programs in September 2009. We strive to continue to provide high quality programming, and can not provide more than 200 volunteers to the Vancouver community. Your response to partnership programs this year was overwhelming. We already have 50 more requests for our Partnership Programs than available volunteers, but we will keep on hiring. Consequently, we have to put a temporary hold on the UBC Let's Talk Science Partnership Program bookings until we have a chance to sort out current requests. Thanks for the overwhelming interest, and stay tuned in. We will continue to be BC's prime volunteer based science-technology-engineering-math-and-more outreach organization. In the meanwhile, please consider applying to our partner site in Vancouver at SFU

Also, we have some photo consent forms that we would like to have you hand out to the parents of your classroom. Please have these forms signed by all your students' parents as soon as you join the Partnership Program , and clearly indicate to our volunteers which individuals did not return these forms to you.
