Computer Science (CS) Unplugged

Computer Science (CS) Unplugged - All Grades
CS Unplugged is a collection of free learning activities that teach Computer Science through engaging games and puzzles that use cards, string, crayons and lots of running around. The activities introduce students to Computational Thinking through concepts such as binary numbers, algorithms and data compression, separated from the distractions and technical details of having to use computers. Importantly, no programming is required to engage with these ideas! CS Unplugged is a project by the CS Education Research Group at the University of Canterbury, NZ (aka "Department of Fun Stuff").
We would like to make some of these activities into kits, so you can expect to see some popping up throughout the year. In the mean time you're welcome to put them together yourself, and we can help with supplies! Many of these activities don't require a whole lot of equipment.
